The Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) is today publishing Briefing Note Number 127 - Shopping around for annuities: the changing market.

This Briefing Note, kindly sponsored by Canada Life and Retirement Line, explores how the annuities market has changed since the introduction of the pension flexibilities in 2015 and previous PPI research in 2017. The Briefing Note also examines the reasons why people may not be choosing to purchase annuities, how shopping around between annuity providers might benefit people in retirement, and why they don’t opt to shop around and what might be done by providers to encourage people to be more active in the annuities market.
