What role could alternative assets play in DC investment strategies in the future?
On Thursday 9 March 2023, The Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) held a successful policy seminar attended by over 50 industry professionals to launch 'What role could alternative assets play in DC investment strategies in the future?', sponsored by the World Gold Council, Platinum Supporters of the PPI.
John Chilman, Railpen and PPI Trustee, chaired the event. Lauren Wilkinson (PPI) presented the key findings from the research and Jeremy De Pessemier (World Gold Council) provided a sponsor's response to the research. Both Lauren and Jeremy were joined by a panel of experts including Des Healy (DWP) and Nico Aspinall (Nico Aspinall Consulting). The event provided an invaluable opportunity for attendees to discuss the findings of the report as well as other areas which fed in to this topic area including, Value for Money, barriers to alternative investment, ESG and gold as an alternative asset.
Following the close of the event attendees were able to network and carry on the discussions with the event participants, the PPI team, representatives from the World Gold Council and other attendees.
